Serving  Schools in Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Leavenworth and Cashmere
Welcome to Wenatchee Valley Chess4Kidz!
We are all about not only helping kids to have fun playing chess, but also helping them to believe in their abilities, and develop good life choice skills.  Learning chess helps kids do better in school, as well as in life! At Wenatchee Valley Chess4Kidz, we have three goals:

Improve Chess -- whether a child is a beginner or an experienced player, they can learn more!
Learn Life -- learning chess can teach a child to make better choices and value self and others
Have Fun! -- learning new things needs to be fun! Only then will a child want to learn even more!

About the Coaches
Currently we are partnering with elementary schools in the Wenatchee and Eastmont (East Wenatchee) school districts. In time we hope to expand to the Cascade School District (Leavenworth) and Cashmere, as well as ay other regional schools. We teach chess after school in one hour sessions.
We help children learn at their own level, whether they are beginners who need to learn basic piece movement, or experienced players seeking to learn new tactics and strategies.  In all cases, we seek to teach more than chess; we teach life principles like making wise choices, teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, honesty, and having a positive, can-do attitude.
Our head chess coach is Keith Madsen. Keith is a retired minister who learned chess and chess coaching at Chess4Life in Bellevue, Washington. All coaches must pass background checks and are trained to teach chess by Keith. Coaches are taught to take a positive approach with kids and make learning chess fun! Coahcespresently include Matt Firn and Jason Sedy.
